4th September 2018
Dana Incorporated (NYSE: DAN) today announced a new series of Brevini™ heavy-duty winch drives for marine and offshore applications. This new series includes five different sizes to support output torque from 80 to 850 kNm, and a ratio range of up to 6.000:1 with hydraulic or electric motor options.
These new, lightweight winch drives have been engineered with a comprehensive range of features, including:
•a sealing system designed to withstand harsh marine environments;
•improved power density;
•housing made from either cast iron or steel;
•high-radial load bearings to deliver reliable lifting performance for heavy loads;
•an integrated hydraulic failsafe negative brake or an electromagnetic brake;
•additional safety features including a back stop, torque limiter and sensors; and
•inline and right-angle configurations.
Currently in the final validation phase of pre-production testing, this new series of winch drives will be available in the first quarter of 2019 and is on display as part of Dana's full-system solution for deck cranes at SMM, Sept. 4-7, in hall A3, stand 301 at the Hamburg Messe exhibition hall.
This series is designed to operate as the winch drive for an auxiliary hoist system on ship loaders, deck cranes, cable and pipe-laying tensioners, rubber-tyred gantry cranes, and other maritime equipment. Engineered for personnel lifting applications in the marine industry, these winch drives have been designed to meet third-party marine certifications, including API 2C and ATEX standards.
"The marine industry includes both onshore port applications and offshore marine settings.
